As a broadcast editor stability & reliability are my benchmarks if you like. Like you I noticed several differences in the way Edius does things, but you know the one thing that stood out for me was that no matter what I did in Edius 6.02, it did not crash. I have used FCPro 7.03 for some years now, and I also purchased CS5 recently. I am pleased someone else has gone through a similar process. I have loaded the Edius 6 trail a couple of times and played a bit around, the audio department is complicated and not an improvement from edius 5.Īlpha is still not complete, i dont know, time will tell i guess. The marketing for Edius 6 looks good, but real life is a tad different, Apple is also notorious for vapor hype, but the magnetic timeline is pretty nifty, adding additional tracks, video or audio is wel not Edius at all, when I compare Version 6 additions is see a catch up to after effects.Īll in all, I feel Edius 6 is not well rounded, it is constrained and compared to other NLE's who are incorporated in a suite via hot-linking etc, i don't know, doesn't feel right, i'm not convinced when a company is selling several products that used to work together and after progress it doesn't anymore. My buying decision will depend on what FCP X actually delivers and how many $$ need to be forked out for all the optional packs.

I have Edius 5, was researching a bit into CS5 & FCP X, as Edius 6 doesnot feel right at all to me i'll stick around for a bit.
